Now Open: Walking & Biking Dog Friendly Trails
Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District has developed new scenic mountain biking and hiking trails on the recreation district land. Single track trails will wind through fun and exciting terrain, with vistas of the three lakes, Colorado River, and wetlands with wild flowers.

We have over 10 miles of trails waiting for you to enjoy – something for everyone! We have short loops right off of the parking lot for the hiker that does not have much time. We have a picnic area overlooking a beautiful wetland within a half mile from the parking lot. If you have more time, you can venture down to the North Fork of the Colorado River on a 6-mile round-trip hike. Many trails wander through forested land and a variety are in open areas with great views. We will continue to work on more trails throughout the fall. We will eventually have maps but for now the routes are signed on the trail. The trailhead parking lot has been completed. It is located one mile in on golf course road on the left side. All trails for dog walking, mountain biking and hiking start at that location.

Trailhead/Parking: Take U.S. Hwy 34 North toward Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Lake. Go past the entrance to the town of Grand Lake, approx. 1/4 mile, turn left on County Road 48. Follow signs to Grand Lake Golf. The lot is one mile in on the left side.

Late Summer Update from the Links
The turf is in immaculate condition this year! "Thank You" to the maintenance personnel for all your hard work this season.

The Clubhouse
The Clubhouse will be receiving a face lift both architecturally and cosmetically. Grand Lake Golf Course is currently interviewing architects to review new design possibilities (construction time frames are undetermined at this point). Our goals include but not limited to: improving functionality, traffic flow, elimination of dead space, and update the finish of the clubhouse. After an architect is chosen additional ideas will be welcomed.

Golf Cars
The board has approved the purchase of 2009 Yamaha gas powered golf cars for the 2009 season.

Golf Course Improvements
Currently the Superintendent and the Director of Golf are working on some course design improvements. Once the clubhouse financial decisions are finalized, costs will be associated with each improvement the course, and then a committee will be formed to help review proposed changes and offer new ideas. Preliminary changes are exciting; we think you will enjoy these also.

Don Campbell, Director of Golf says "I would like to thank everyone for a great season in these trying economic times!"
