High Mountain Adventure Afterschool Program

Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District is excited to bring the High Mountain Adventure Day Afterschool Program to Grand Lake Elementary! We welcome kindergarten to fourth grade and we have developed age appropriate activities for them to enjoy throughout the school year.

Our goal is to provide a safe, action oriented program filled with variety, fun and after school adventures. Each day includes outdoor exploration, music, crafts, sports, field trips. On Fridays we offer our Fabulous Funky Fridays!

Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-5:30pm, Thursdays 3:45pm-4:45pm story time @ the Library

Hours of Operations: Monday through Thursday: 3:30 to 5:30pm

Fees: Daily - $10.00 per day or $35.00 for four days

Fabulous Funky Fridays

Hours of Operations: Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm

Fee: $30.00

Activities vary with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and local field trips as weather permits.

Youth Basketball

Monday and Wednesday 3:30pm-6:30pm and Saturday games.

Summer 2008 Preview

We are looking forward to another exciting summer here in Grand Lake. We will have programs available for youth ages 5 to 10 or specialized camps for youth 8 to 12.

High Mountain Adventure Day Camp:

• Begins June 9th and runs through August 22nd
• Open to youth ages 5 - 10 years
• Monday through Thursday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
• Friday Fling program 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Fees: $25 per day, $75 per week (M-Th), $30 per Friday Fling and a one time activity fee of $30.

Daily and/or weekly activities may include outdoor activities, outdoor exploration, music, arts & crafts, a summer reading program, sports, field trips and beach day. We will also have Ranger led activities in RMNP.

Friday Flings will be filled with trips to the Denver Zoo, Museum of Nature and Science, Boondocks, Butterfly Pavilion, Georgetown Loop, Silverthorne Rec. Center, Estes Park, Rockies Games, Buffalo Bill's Grave, The Children's Museum and lots of other fun trips. All dates and activities will be decided and scheduled, as we get closer to the summer calendar.

High Mountain Adventure Art Camp:

The Art Camp will be offered to youth ages 8 to 12. The scheduled for the Art Camps is Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, June 17th - 19th; June 24th - 26th; and July 1st - 3rd.

Activities will include Watercolor, Photography and Cooking.

Fees: $115 per week, $25 supply fee; $300 for the 3-week program, $65 supply fee.

High Mountain Adventure Outdoors Camp:

The Outdoors Camp will be offered to youth ages 8 to 12. The schedule for the Outdoors Camp is Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, July 15th - 17th; July 22nd - 24th ; and July 29th - 31st.

Each week will be a new adventure in Rocky Mountain National Park and around Grand County. Activities will include Hiking, Biking and Canoeing/Water Fun.

Fees: $115 per week, $300 for the 3-week program.

High Mountain Adventure Tennis Camp:

The Tennis camp will be offered to youth ages 5 - 12. The week scheduled for the Tennis Camp will be determined as soon as possible. Tennis skills for the beginner to the advanced player will be available.

Fee: $75 for the week.
